Calvin Klein’s ‘UNCENSORED’ challenges traditional static advertising.
Attention residents of Houston, L.A. and Chelsea! You are guinea pigs for some New Media adverts! Promotional videos for Calvin Klein’s fall/winter 2010 line have hit 4 select street locations that are only viewable if you have your smart phone and some wi-fi. The encrypted QR code is cracked after you take a picture, which in turn redirects you to a webpage, unlocking the ‘censored’ material.
How’s that for marketing? It’s like getting a prize in your cereal, “Here’s the ol’ standby billboard – NOW WITH FREE VIDEO!” They are only up until tomorrow 7/16/10, so if you are in the neighborhood and aren’t too busy using your phone to talk or text or updating your Facebook status – take a picture why dontcha?
