For example, for Titor's courage of speaking out the civil warfare and world war III caused the U.S. government to tackle the issuea before it happens (because the story was wirespreaded). It no longer happened in this timeline. Thanks to him. Peace is done in this timeline. However, other claims like mad cow disease are un-preventable and still remain as fact. That is the reason why Titor's condition is said to be a mixture of fact and imagination when he returns home. Time travel is very dangerous and it has psychological effects and disorder afterward.
